Adding a new action to the calendar

The calendar lets you add 2 types of actions:

  • My actions
    These actions are personal and not related to the Dialog Insight. They can be public, therefore visible to all users who have access to the same project, or private, in which case only you can see them.
  • Dialog Insight actions
    In addition to actions that have already been created in Dialog Insight, you can also add new emails, SMS, mobile push, web push and landing page right from the calendar. For example, you might already know that you want to send a promotion message on January 15, but do not know yet what the message will be. So you can already block this date for an email, and create the email message later.
    *Other Dialog Insight actions will be added in future releases.
 Prerequisite
The Calendar module must be enabled.
Contact your account manager to have this feature enabled in your account.

How To

Add a custom action

  1. In the calendar, click the  icon.
  2. In the Create action window, choose Custom Action as the type of action to add.
  3. Name the action.
  4. Enter the start and end dates of the action.
    If no date is selected, current date and time are used by default as the start date and time.
  5. Specify the start and end time of the action, or check the All day option.
  6. The default color is automatically assigned, but can be changed if needed.

  7. Other options are available under Additional options.
    • Description - To provide more information about the action. 
    • Tags- To add tags that will help you filter actions. Tags can only be added once the action has been created and saved.
      1. Click Add.
      2. Select any of the existing tags, or type a new one.
    • Private - To indicate that the action is private, therefore only visible in your own calendar. By default, this option is disabled, and the action public and visible to all users who have access to the same project. A lock icon shows beside all private actions -->
    • Recurrence- To indicate that the action occurs more than once. 
      1. Once the option is enabled, check the option that corresponds to how the action repeats itself.
      2. To limit the duration of the action in time, you can specify an end date.
    • Reminder- To receive or send a reminder by email.
      1. Once the option is enabled, choose the name of the user to whom you want to send a reminder.
      2. Indicate when the send the reminder, in terms of the number of minutes, hours or days before the action.
      3. To add another reminder, click Add a notification.
  8. When all options have been defined, click Save.

Add a Dialog Insight action

  1. In the calendar, click the  icon.
  2. In the Create action window, choose the type of action to add.
  3. Name the action.
  4. Enter the date and time.
    If no date is selected, the current date and time are used by default.

  5. Other options are available under Additional options.
    • Description - To provide more information about the action. 
    • Reminder- To receive or send a reminder by email.
      1. Once the option is enabled, choose the name of the user to whom you want to send a reminder.
      2. Indicate when the send the reminder, in terms of the number of minutes, hours or days before the action.
      3. To add another reminder, click Add a notification.
  6. When all options have been defined, click on Next. The Edit window will open.

Choosing another message

You have planned to send a message at a given date, but still haven't decided on the message to send.

You have 2 choices:

  • send a completely new message, not yet created, or

  • select an existing message in your list of messages, or

  • save without adding a message.
