Following are some of the terms that are most commonly used in the application, as well as their respective description.

A|B Split campaign
Campaign that lets you create multiple versions of the same message in order to test which one is the most effective, and to send it to the rest of the targeted contacts.
automated import
Process used to automatically add or update contacts in a project by importing them from another project or from an external CSV file. Import is done automatically as per the set frequency and time.

Communication Types
Communication types are used to categorize messages and to define your contacts' communication rights.
consent
Consent that confirms that the contact accepts to receive one or more communications from you. There are 2 types - the express consent (provided when the contact accepts to subscribe by completing a form) and the implied consent (which results from a business relation).
consent centre
The consent center lets you configure and create all the necessary aspects for you to comply with the Canadian Anti-Spam Law when sending messages by email.
contact
Any person that is entered in the database of a project is added as a contact and part of the contact list.
conversion
Conversion corresponds to the positive result arising from having visitors on your website (purchase, subscription, price request, product information, etc.).

default value
Value that is assigned automatically to a field in the event no value is entered by the user.

E-Commerce
Operation that groups all the commercial transactions that are performed remotely using electronic and digital interfaces, such as sales on web stores.

field
An element in the database that lets you enter information. Fields are the basis of a project (contact list).

geolocation
Feature that lets you target contacts based on their location, which is either set by postal code, IP address or GPS coordinates.

import
Process used to add or update contacts in a project by importing them from another project or an external CSV file.

label
In a page or form, it is the name of the field. Just beside the name of the field is displayed the corresponding value.

marketing automation
Module that allows you to quickly create various scenarios to either automate processes for sending emails or create complex workflows to manage interactions with other telemarketing or mailing systems.
multi-segment campaign
Type of campaign that lets you send messages per segment of predefined contacts. Your entire contact dababase is thereafter divided into segments.

primary key
The primary key represents the field, or fields, used to uniquely identify contacts. Fields composing the primary key are also required fields.
project
Gathers all the information contained in a database. A project must have at least one contact list and provides access to various features and modules based on granted permissions. Creating a project is essential to the use of Dialog Insight - Contact.

relational table
Used to store additional contact information outside of the project. as to not overload the project's database.
responsive
Automatic ajustement of a web page or message based on the size of the screen on which it is displayed.
S
scheduled export
Automated workflow used to copy Dialog Insight data into a CSV file for backup purposes or to be used by another application. The export is executed based on the set frequency and time.
scoring
Feature that lets you grant points to your contacts based on criteria you find important. As this scoring shows in the contact card, you can easily identify your best contacts.
segmentation
Feature that allows you to filter your list of contacts, and divide it in sub-groups of contacts having similar interests, so that you can send personalized messages to each group.

web interceptor
Popup window that invites visitors to perform a given action, such as completing a survey, entering a contest, registering to an event, viewieg another page, downloading a document or subscribing to a communication.
