It is possible to edit the parameters of any project, whether it is online or in preparation. The changes made are applied upon saving.
Simple Changes
To change the name of a project, click on the edit icon shown next to the name of the project, in the header section of the edit page, and enter the new name.
The name of the project is only displayed within the application, never in publications intended for contacts.
To change the label of a project, click on the edit icon shown next to the name of the project, in the header section of the edit page, and replace the existing label by a new one, in all desired languages.
The label is the public name of the project. If more than one language is available in the project, you can provide a label for each language. More info...Defining Available Languages in a Project
Avanced Settings
You will find the language and time zone configurations in the field list by clicking Advanced settings:
Click on Communication Languages:
To add a language, simply click on this language. If the language you want to use is not available, click on Add language to make a request with the form that will appear.
The, fill in the label and description inputs of the fields in every language (if needed for your project). When defining a project field, you can specify a label and a description for each available language in the project, but this is not mandatory. If a field label or description is not provided in a language, the information in the default language will be displayed. You may change the input hint as well. Go to the field edition window and add the information for this field:
Change the label of sections of your project (if you wish to display them in another language). When creating a new section, providing a name for each available language is mandatory. If the section already exists, you need to edit it if you do not want other languages' labels to be displayed in the default language.
Delete a language from a project
Once you have checked a language in order to use it in a project, you cannot delete it as such, but you can disable it by removing the associated check mark. If you have requested to use a custom language, you will also be able to uncheck it as to make it unavailable in the project.
Note: When you delete a language, you only remove it from the available languages. All the labels that were created in that language are not deleted and will display if you decide to enable that language again later.
You may configure the time zone for the account, projects or contacts. Configuring the time zones is not required, but checking if those used as default are appropriate for your situation and needs is recommended. The time zone of your project will impact the delivery time of planned mailings and automated exports.
Where time zone support is enabled and a time zone other than that of the application is selected, mailing results will also be shown using the time zone chosen for the project. When time zones are not supported, Dialog Insight server time is used (Montreal time).
If no time zone configuration is performed in the application, either for the company or the project, the default time zone used is the system's time:
- American platform (app.dialoginsight.com) : (UTC-05:00) East (U.S. and Canada)
- European platform (app.mydialoginsight.com) : (UTC±00:00) GMT
For other accepted time zone codes, dowload the Excel file at the bottom of this article.
**Note that these time zone codes are listed based on Daily Saving Time (DST) standards. Therefore, the same UTC can be assigned to different cities, as they do not change time at the same moment or do not apply DST at all.
Why use a time zone other than the default?
Using a time zone different from the one used by the application gives you the ability to send messages and plan automated extractions as per your time zone or any other time zone if your company has offices worldwide or clients in different regions. Furthermore, all message-related results will be shown according to that same time zone. If your contacts are in a different area, setting their time zone according to their region may be relevant.
Once you have set the time zones inside your project, you can use them in your planned messages.
Account Time Zone
Project Time ZoneThe project default time zone is inherited from your enterprise account . If you wish to change it for your recently created project, follow these steps:
Contact time zone
The option Allow to send messages based on contacts' local time enables sending messages at the contact's local time. Hence, the recipient receives them at the planned time, according to his respective time zone. For example, if you choose to send a message at 8 am in your local time, the contacts will receive it at 8 am, but in their own local time.
The default time zone for a contact is the same as the project. For a contact to receive a message at the same time as you, but for his time zone, it needs to be set in his profile. Beforehand, the option Allow to send messages based on contacts' local time (see the previous section on the project's time zone).
For example, if you enable this option and choose to send a message at 8:00 am at your local time, contacts will receive it at 8:00 am at their local time. In general, providing a time zone for your contacts is through import or forms (opt-in or profile update), but you may change it later. You may do it with a new import or profile update form. Or, you may adjust it manually, one contact at a time, directly in the contact's profile:
Then, idicate the time zone to add for this contact.
If the contact has the same time zone as the project, the UTC does not display.
When sending a message, you will then have the option to send the message at the contacts' local time:
All the message related results are also displayed based on the new time zone selected. When different from the company time zone, it is indicated.
