Configuring Log Export

Export the entire system logs to your CRM in order to integrate data from Dialog Insight on contacts, mailings, messages and much more. To get a complete description of exported data, download the Excel file presenting a sheet for each data filename. You can only program one export to a server (only one choice of server). You can also add a Google Big Query project as a destination.

Access path: Project → Data Management → Imports / Exports

Prerequisites

Depending on the destination to which you want to send your data, you must create the destination structure. You can use one of these 2 options or both at the same time:

Step 1: Configure the Export Task

Follow the access path and click Dialog Insight log export:

In the Configuration section, there are several elements to configure. You must at least specify the destination and schedule.

Export destination
Select a server or Google Big Query (or both):If you selected a server, specify the path.

Options
You can edit the default options, such as the file production and the hashing algorithm for obfuscated fields.

If you want the exported file to be compressed or encrypted, you must also specify the type and/or provide the required keys, if you want data to be read and exported correctly.

In the same section, specify any special file transfer options:

  • By sending the file in 2 steps, you are making sure that the entire file is exported since the system generates two export files and compares them to make sure all has been transferred.
  • If you choose to submit a confirmation file, the system will create a file that contains information about the export. This file includes information you have requested and will be placed where it is indicated on the confirmation page.

If you want to export all data starting from the creation of your DI project, check Export all data on the next run*:Otherwise, you can specify the period in days to include in the next export (90 days as default).

*Remember to uncheck the option after the first export. Otherwise, every export will send the entirety of the data, which will impact the performance.

Schedule
Specify the frequency and the time for the export:

Step 2: Define the Export Content

Check the data to export and click Save at the bottom of the page:

The order in which the data will appear may vary depending on the circumstances. For more info on the exported data for each type, use the Excel document at the end of this article. Under Export content, sub-sections will appear, in which you can specify the data to export for each type. For example, when exporting the contacts, you can choose to export all the data or select some fields only. By default, all fields are selected.

If you want some data to be coded for increased security, click the lock  icon to obfuscate the exported data.

Step 3: Specify Alerts

You can add alerts for yourself or other users:

It is recommended to add more than one user, in case a user would not be active.

Step 4: Activate the Export

In the Configuration section, click the Activate button to activate the task:

Note: If you want to make changes to your configurations, you need to first disable the export by clicking Deactivate, make your changes, and then reactivate it.

You can wait for the export at the scheduled time, but you could launch the first export manually. Select the task and click Launch now:

Export History

Multiple functions are possible from this page:

  • View - To display details about a specific export execution, its results and processing sequence.
  • Retry - To retry a specific export execution with the status of the file at this specific moment. This execution does not affect the regular export schedule.
  • Ignore - To remove a line from the list, for reducing the number of export executions in the history list.
