Share RSS Content by Email (Drag-and-Drop editor)

If you regularly publish content on a website or blog, you can use one of our two RSS content blocks to insert your most recent or important articles into your emails.

 Prerequisite

Have an RSS feed.

Have the Dynamic RSS feed block or Static RSS feed block in your template. If you do not have these blocks, contact our team to get them.

How to

Dynamic RSS feed block

The dynamic RSS allows you to extract the content of your RSS feed and update it automatically at the time of sending.

  1. In the upper right corner of the editor, click on the icon and then on Dynamic RSS Feed.
  2. Check the Activate box and enter the link for your feed.
  3. Select one of the following verification options:
    • Daily - We will check your feed so that, if new items have been added in the last 24 hours, we can post them in your email when you send it.
    • Weekly - We will check your feed so that, if new items have been added in the last 7 days, we can post them in your email when you send it.
  4. If you wish, you can send or receive an email alert whenever a problem occurs. Otherwise, click on the Save button.
    If you see an error message appear, consider using a feed validator to ensure that your link is valid. You can also consult Troubleshooting Common RSS Problems.
  5. Insert a dynamic RSS content block in your email.
    1. Drag the Dynamic RSS Feed block to the desired location in your email.
    2. Edit your block.
    3. Choose the maximum number of items to display.
    4. Customize the block using the various options available in the Styles, Settings and Layout tabs.
    5. When you are finished, click on the Save and Close button.
  6. Make sure that the elements of your RSS content (titles, descriptions, images, etc.) are displayed correctly by clicking on the preview icon in the header of your email. Please note that the articles are updated at the time of sending.
  7. Automate the sending of your email by creating a recurring scenario that will be launched periodically (daily, weekly or monthly) whenever new articles are published on your site (see Create a Custom Marketing Automation Scenario).

Static RSS feed block

This block allows you to extract the content of your RSS feed so that you can manually select the desired articles. Note that the content is not automatically updated at the time of sending, it is static.

  1. Drag the Static RSS Feed block to the desired location in your email.
  2. Edit your block.
  3. Click in the Articles field to add the link to your feed and select the article(s) to display. To see the available items, click on the Refresh icon.

  4. Customize the block using the various options available in the Styles, Settings and Layout tabs.
  5. When you are finished, click on the Save and Close button.
  6. Make sure your RSS content is displayed correctly by clicking on the preview icon in the header of your email.
  7. Choose your recipients and specify when you want your email to be sent (see Sending a Message).
